Difference between Articulation Essentials and Alphabet Essentials

Introducing “Alphabet Essentials” – Our Newest App

At MeshTech, we are always looking to contribute to the EDTech industry by introducing solutions that can help curb speech/language shortcomings among students and expand the learning curve.

We introduced Articulation Essentials last year to help SLPs and parents address articulation and phonological problems in pupil. We received great feedback from our users, whom we like to call our ambassadors. With the feedback & ideas we receive, we will never conclude development on Articulation Essentials, rather updates and additions are being made consecutively, so that there are always more features for our peers to use and kids to experience.

This time around we are launching another application “Alphabet Essentials”. Although in functionality, Alphabet essentials may seem similar to Articulation Essentials but there is a huge difference of approach, and the gaps that “Alphabet Essentials” specifically aims to bridge in mental growth of the young ones.

What’s different in “Alphabet Essentials”?

Unlike Articulation Essentials, which targets only articles and SLR blends for phonology and articulation practice, Alphabet Essentials targets all alphabets for basic vocabulary, word and sound practice. Alphabet essentials too offers diverse and engaging ways for children to learn their ABC, understand words, phrases and sentences using flash cards, word activities and games.

Alphabet essentials makes available to young students thousands of everyday items in pictures for naming & vocab and in coming releases will also enables teachers to add in their own content such as verbiage and images for a more personalized and advance learning.

Alphabet Essentials will also include group sessions and packs an advance diagnostic system that lets teachers easily pinpoint and target shortcomings in pupil during learning.

Why did we launch Alphabet Essentials?

During our outreach to SLPs while we introduced them to articulation essentials, many of them came up with a great suggestion that we add a menu or a feature within the app that would let students practice all alphabets besides just phonetics and articulation.

This addition in one way would have enabled students who have progressed from articulation to experience newer horizons with fun and engaging activities, but in another way would make the app deviate from the purpose that is centered on articulation practice.

Since articulation practice and phonetics is different than alphabet and vocab learning, plus requires further diversity in terms of features and newest additions – we thought, why not to keep Articulation Essentials limited to articulation & phonetics and therein add the diversity with more activities. And while that becomes an ongoing process, why not develop a new app namely “Alphabet essentials” and dedicate it solely for alphabet learning, sentence/word and vocabulary practice.

That is how Alphabet Essentials came to be and will be launching soon on Amazon store, Apple Appstore and Google Play. Alphabet Essentials will also have too versions on all the market places, i.e A lite version (which is a complete app with basic features) and premium version (that unlocks advance diagnostics and personalization capabilities)
